Samira Wiley and Jin Ha Join Broadway Cast of 'Proof'
Samira Wiley and Jin Ha have joined the Broadway cast of 'Proof', joining Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle on stage. This marks Wiley's Broadway debut, following her Emmy Award-winning role in 'The Handmaid's Tale' and breakout performance in 'Orange Is the New Black'. Ha, who has previously starred in 'Hamilton' on Broadway, will also make his Broadway debut in this production. The play, directed by Thomas Kail, is a revival of David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which explores a daughter's grief and her coming to terms with her father's life and mathematical legacy. The original production won the Tony Award and the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and was later adapted into a feature film starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Hopkins, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Edebiri and Cheadle, both making their Broadway debuts, are also part of the cast. Wiley has previously performed in London and Off-Broadway, while Ha has appeared in Off-Broadway productions and the world premiere of Stephen Sondheim's final musical. The play is set for a 16-week engagement at the Booth Theatre, opening on April 16, 2026.
